It takes a brief moment to process it, but there it is. All the move information, if you scroll though it. He gets up close to Rin to show this off ]
[Rin shimmies closer to him, shoulder to arm and her eyes on the book. She pauses for a moment on the ability (Static? Good to know) before trailing down to the moves and...]
Wow. This is impressive.
[There's so many, and a little synopsis for each. It's a bit like the information she gets in her head looking at a Servant, she realizes, but for Pokemon.]
It was entrusted to me by those experts I mentioned earlier.
[ He can't help but think, now, that Gold might've entrusted it to him on a lark. He thinks of the trial he needed to go through because Green didn't think he was worthy of it. He thinks of the training her did with Silver and cilan, the battles he did with Shiemi and Chien and the others. His attempts to mentor Ikki.
He misses the battle dome.
He misses them. ]
It's a native piece of technology to their world, but as I understand it, only a dozen or so exist there. This one's cloned from one of them.
[Rin sighs forlornly, leaning away from him again.]

[She misses the significance, of course, that his Dex holds to him. Can't know, other than that it must have been a noteworthy gesture on their part, to give something so rare to him, but certainly not the feelings attached to it. For Rin, it just ends up being a disappointment there's no easy way for her to get one.]
[ But then, AZ had said that Colin of all people had one. He suspects - hopes - it's based on some other world. Because he's certain that man isn't meant to be a Dex Holder any more than he was. Probably even less, really. That said, he shrugs, and flips further down the entry for Linda, smiling at the collection of moves they have worked on over time. ]

[Koo, for his part, is trying to make muscles out of those noodle arms of his at Linda, but from the way he keeps peeking over his shoulder it's obvious it's for his trainer's attention. Look at him, look at him, trainer! He'll show you what he can do!]
[ And he pockets the Pokédex. He'll no doubt use it more than this in the moments to come, but he nods to himself and gives Linda a thumbs up, who rolls her eyes, pushes her palms together, and scoots back just a bit to face opposite of Koo. So what do you even want? Come on, hit her.

... Julia for her part looks a bit more hesitant ]
So why don't you show us what you've worked on so far?
[Koo gives a nervous glance at Linda, then looks up and up at Masaomi, eyes just visible under that helmet. You wouldn't lie to him, right? But ultimately, he trusts Rin most, so she's the one he fixes his next gaze at.]
Alright, let's do it. [She looks down to her Ralts.] Koo!
[He stands straight. Yes, trainer!]
You know what to do.
[With a proud grin, she makes a thumbs-down sign, and he turns away from her. Right! Attention back on Linda, he opens his mouth as wide as it will go and uses Growl to lower Linda's attack.]
Well, it was weirdly unsettling in a way, and she can't help but twitch a little for it. She hisses back at him, and whirls her tail in the air before throwing a punch which is never meant to hit him, just at the air.
[He tries really hard not to flinch. Be careful, okay... He didn't bring his band-aids.]
That's right. [Rin beams.] That way even if she or anyone else hurt him, it won't hit as hard.
["Even"? Well, that might make more sense in a second. Rin points at Koo with her pointer and middle finger next, and he buckles down, almost flash stepping in place. Double team!]
[ Double Team... now there's a move him and Linda were working on too. He suspects she's going to compete-
... Oh, of course she is. Weakened a little as she is, the Raichu smirks and sets to work doing much the same as Koo, flash-step moving as well to try to make a blur. It's clear neither is doing much better than the other though, it's a move they hadn't quite mastered yer. ]
That said, if his defenses aren't up to snuff, it might be better to avoid being hit, right?
That, and he's still little. Until he's better able to confront a dangerous situation, I want him to throw every trick in the book at his opponent if it means getting out okay.
[Koo tries not to sulk as before, just nods without question when Rin gestures again, blurring faster in a second go of Double Team.]
Will he be in a position to be involved in battle like that? Koo wants to fight, I could feel that, but will he join your fights with shadows?
[ Actually, let's test his ability to dodge. Masaomi, who has been resisting moving this whole time, now snaps his fingers and Linda sparks her cheeks until Masaomi corrects her to say, ]
Let's do a Rock Smash!
[ OH COME ON. But okay - she'll front flip and try to bring her tail down as an axe swipe over the top fo Koo's head. It's a weak hit, by her standards, and it is a Fighting move. ]
Well, yes. I don't know about where they come from, but in this environment, it's more important in the long run to fight them then other pokemon.
[And despite two stages of raises evasiveness, Linda's attack hits. Rin's forehead pinches, but she otherwise makes no move watching her Ralts take damage. This is part of the process; he has to learn, and she's prepared for that. Luckily for him, being both Psychic and Fairy, he resists that move 4x in addition to lowering Linda's attack — but as Rin said, he's still little. That attack dazes him quite a bit, knocking down much of his health, and he has to resist rubbing his head.]
[ Linda, for her part, cheers in victory for having landed the hit! After all, the little brat was moving pretty fast there! Masaomi though, for his part, hums a little. The growl didn't look bad but he's not worked as much with it before. As for the Double Team... ]
It's a shame, though.
[ Linda had to kill so many... well, at least this enemy isn't human. Masaomi smiles in spite of himself, and then hums a bit - ]
Well Koo, when you're recovered, if your charge agrees, when how about you show us your next ability?
[A shame, he says. Rin looks across to Masaomi, and her clear gaze is impossible to read.
Koo, for his part, misses it. H-He can do it, captain, just give him a second. He shakes himself back into focus. Okay. Ready, trainer! When she sees the signal, Rin nods at him and makes a third gesture, pinky out. Koo responds right away, focusing intensely on Linda ahead. There's a pink energy about him, as a telekinetic force is pushed at the Raichu. Confusion!]
[ This is perhaps the most relevant move to study. Of course, all moves can and will be developed, but for now this is his attacking move, and so Masaomi's eyes narrow as he processes how he does it and what force it initiates. Also don't think he missed Rin doing hand motions. He had that idea early on too.
It's useful, but also potentially a liability long term.
But oh well, for now, Linda braces herself to take the hit, getting pushed back by a wave of the pink energy. She skids back on the floor, gritting her teeth as she does, but not looking that phased by it. Or at least she wasn't knocked over.
[It's temporary. When Koo becomes big enough Rin is ready to make him one of her familiars proper, she plans to do away with them. By then, between his psychic potential and her own abilities, she thinks she may just be able to give him mental commands.
But that's a strategy she's not ready to reveal just yet. Until then, this will do.]

[Rin's praise is tame, but to both of them Koo simply lights up. He's only put a little dent in Linda, he knows, but he worked really hard! That his trainer and Masaomi recognize it makes him feel accomplished.]

[ He claps his hands together, and Linda, wanting to show off a little while she was waiting, waves her tail in the air, shifting it from being coated in metal to not. Her Iron Tail, that is. ]
