[ He grins, ] But to be clear, he can't look around a room and do it, huh? I guess quantity of passengers might be cooler than speed...
[ EXCUSE YOU. SPEED IS SO COOL. In fact, Linda is going to show off now, even if the focus isn't on her. She shifts from one foot to the other and then uses her Agility to rapidly move (in an orange blur) to a space about five feet away from where she was, and then repeat that a few times, seemingly "teleporting." Sure, she might not be great with after images yet, but her Agility is great, right? RIGHT? ]
[Koo seems to think so, not hesitating in his applause.]
Yes, yes, That's right. Now quit needling him before you make him feel bad.
[Huh what, are you talking about him again, Trainer? Rin sighs. Oh come on, Koo, you could at least look put out for emphasis.]
Koo, show Masaomi your newest move.
[Oh, he's never done it with another person though... Still, this doesn't seem as tall of an order as teleporting some place he doesn't know very well, even if that's just the other side of this room. Koo approaches Masaomi, tugging at his pant leg. Ready?]
[ You know, idly, Masaomi can't help but wonder what teleporting which isn't caused by Shifting feels like. When you were shifted, it always felt like someone jerked you a little below the naval, at least to him, and then pulled you through space as if through a hook. It always made him feel slightly queazy. But this, well?
[They can meet back up at the room then? Well, Koo will likely end up there eventually anyways. The Ralts returns the smile as best he can, and then...
Well for him, teleporting is more like a whoosh. It's not dissimilar to Masaomi's own experiences, but it's accompanied by a feeling of weightlessness and a transition that's more like a gradual wipe than a sudden stop. Just a blink and then... Then they find themselves in the altar room! So? So? Did he do good?]
[ Huh. That didn't feel quite instant, some part of him connects. That said, he also didn't time this or anything, it could be a matter of perception as compared to reality. That said, he nods at Rin and mouths "we'll be back" before they go.
And then just as fast, they're there.
Either way, he nods to Koo and makes to pick the boy up ]
[Koo seems excited at the praise, and eager to show off more. As soon as he's picked up, without waiting for instruction (or maybe still going off prior ones), he throws his hands in the air and zips them along to the next location: the library! And after a brief stop there, he'll teleport them back to the bedroom.]
[ Okay, this sort of chain teleporting is actually way more impressive. He blinks in the course of it, and once they're back in the room he grins. He still has more training he wants to do - thus far they've just done sampling - so once they're back here, he does, still having Koo in hand, start to go back toward the stairs for the court.
[That was good, right? Koo folds his arms as if very proud of himself as he's carried back off
Back to the basketball court they go then, and upon arriving Rin will have taken seat on the floor, having found a ball to play with with Julia (and Linda too, if she doesn't deign it too babyish). She looks up at the sound of the door.]
It's definitely what you might call a "useful skill"
[ Particularly if he could teleport more than one person at a time. He'd thought of battlefield applications, but really this could be a great asset, for as long as they remain in this castle. Or... other times. So training Koo's ability to keep track of spacial awareness and memorize locations would be key.
[ Inhale... exhale. It's his moment of truth, to see if he can be something approaching a mentor. He's pretty sure he's not worthy. There's people more capable than him here (Blue and N and...) and... Well, then he'll just.
He'll exhale and, ]
Well first things first, Koo's main attacking move is Confusion, right? So it makes sense to see how we can develop his psychic potential. Let's test for consistency... eto...
Actually, there might be some balls here...
[ He hums, looking around the gym and then starts to walk in a direction ]
For now, Linda! [ WHAT. ] Are you willing to endure a few more hits? [ WHY ]
[ Oh, is she offering? He stops walking - but then shakes his head and points at Linda and Koo, and then motions for Rin to stay there. ]
Atta-ta. This is for you too, Trainer. You need to observe how Koo moves, and understand how the attack is formed. Become one with those movements. For the time being, why don't you and Koo attack Linda some more.
[ HEY. HEY SHE- ]
And if you don't daze her by the end of this session she can hit back.
[ . . . Oh.
That works.
Meanwhile, Masaomi will go out in search of balls. ]
[Rin watches Masaomi curiously before sliding back to Koo, crouching down beside him to speak conspiratorially, a mischievous smirk blossoming on her face.]
You heard that, didn't you? He did say me and you, so let's try this...
[Each subsequent Confusion attack on Linda takes a little more time than the last, subsequently, but will have a more focused effect each try. The telekinetic force begins to warp the air around it, similar to a mirage, giving this part of the basketball court a shimmering image stumbling in the desert.
Rin isn't helping. Not with her own attacks, at any rate; she's not that dirty. But given Masaomi's command was to understand how the attack was formed, and her desire to shape the psychic connection between her and Koo, she's combined both objectives.
After every attack, she takes Koo to the side and pressed the pad of her thumb to his forehead, encouraging him to show her (even empathetically) the process, letting her mime out to him ways she thinks he can improve it. Oh, it's like a whoosh-whoosh feeling? Try spinning it, it should be like whish-whish.
[ MASAOMI. Does she really just need to endure this? Taking Koo's hits, Linda ends up spinning in the air, crashing down, being pushed back... She's so annoyed by this point that after the last bit of spinning, she sparks electricity down from her cheeks to her fists, making a build up for a thunder Punch. Or maybe she should Iron Tail this little punk? And seriously, is this adapting to battlefield conditions?! She-
But it's around that time that Masaomi comes back into the picture. He found some balls - he was hoping for tennis balls or baseballs, but what he found was instead three volleyballs. And so as he walks back, without warning for this first one, he throws a ball right towards Koo. ]
[And it beans him right in the head. Hey hey hey, what gives here?? He's concentrating really hard on what you told him to do! But Rin catches on right away, tugging at one of Koo's noodle-thin arms to get his immediate attention. More properly, she realizes she had it backwards before. Masaomi doesn't want Koo to throw the balls, he's going to throw them at him.]
Koo, keep this pace up without changing, but you have two targets now. Attack Linda as we've been doing, but when I give the signal, aim your Confusion at this space here.
[And she shows him, projecting an image into his head: not Masaomi or even the balls, but the space right in front of him. Koo doesn't seem to get it yet, but he nods fiercely anyways. Whatever his trainer says!]
[ What he plans next is going to be too much for the little guy to handle it flawlessly. He's certain of that. But he also knows that his girl is not going to be content to be a target forever without doing anything. And so he locks eyes with his Raichu, who seems to roll her eyes at him, but she is actively smirking now. Okay, she'll play nice. The "borders" of her frame seem to fuzz, and then she uses her Agility to move at blinding speeds in a semi-circle around Rin and Koo. At the same time, Masaomi is making a wider and much slower circle as he continues to throw the balls.
And yet, despite this, they do seem to be in sync timing wise. Him throwing at the moments Linda moves ]

Does not. They can bounce around a ball. That's fine. She'll humor Julia. After all, the kid needs exercise.

That we are! Back, that is!

[She has an inkling she knows what he's getting at. She's seen Koo's Confusion enough times to clock it works much like a telekinetic force.]
Yes, I think I've seen where they're kept before.
