[Somehow it feels fitting, that it's blades. There's some irony to be found in it, she's sure.
But they dance about her, and Rin can feel the magic thick in the air all around them. Can feel the flow of power like a gust of wind blowing through an empty hall, throwing heavy doors open. It's warm yet gives her goosebumps all at once, that power, and steals her breath for an instant.
The Crest implanted in her left arm reacts immediately flaring to life at what it sees as an intrusion. From the angle he holds her hand, Zaveid might actually catch a glimpse of it at the wrist not covered by her sleeve: strange green lines that glow in a pattern from underneath her skin.
It hurts. It hurts, like being struck by a stone from two sides, but she's okay. A little dazed-looking, but still standing, which is better than she thought she would be based on what Zaveid told her earlier.]
[It's over then? Oh, she realizes. From his end it would be. For her, there's still a ways to go. She takes a deep breath and steals herself.]
R-Right. I'll do that...
[Pulling her hand back, she wanders back over to her bag. There's pain radiating from her elbow to fingertips now, so rather than sift through the contents she deigns to just dump them all out on what will be her bed: two water bottles, a container filled with a dissolvable medicine, a notebook, and a pair of pajamas, which she gingerly reaches for.
She's going to be asleep for a while, he said, so why get her casual outfit so smelly? Rin takes these and the now empty bag and wavers towards the door. She'll go change in the shared bathroom and return quickly. There's still things she wants to explain to Zaveid before she goes down.]
[The energy going through her is strange. It feels absolutely exhilarating, but so much so that it loops back to being exhausting.
On the way back she has to lean on the castle walls for support, her knees feeling weak from it. In her pajamas, she re-enters the room slowly, pausing at the door there.]
Oh. You cleaned up. [Noticed, a bit belatedly.] Thanks.
[Her gratitude is genuine. Try as she does to maintain an exemplary image, Rin is a messy person by her very nature. She doesn't think she has the energy now for even a simple cleanup like Zaveid had done while she was out, so she's glad to be spared that.]
[That makes her chuckle quietly, wobbling over to the bed. Just managing to make it without falling over, she carelessly pulls back the covers and climbs in.
A sigh; she nearly drops off right there, but a deep breath shakes her back awake for a moment, eyes trying to refocus on her things. Not yet.]
I have to leave you with some instructions before I... [She sighs again, trailing off as she forgets the words. Oh well. You know what she means.] Get as much rest as you need, before worrying about me.
[He said he could stay out instead before, and she appreciates that, but she wouldn't want him to spend the entire time like that.]
That's the whole point of this, so it would be stupid if we didn't make good on it after coming this far.
I hear ya, take a nap while you're out. [ ... He probably won't actually sleep, he feels like most of the holes in his leaky pail have been plugged, but he'll pop in once or twice just to make sure he's not missing anything from being... on the outside.
... and not at all to convince himself he didn't miss having a shepherd.
Her just being here and being a vessel is help enough- ]
[A part of her feels like she's been wrapped in heavy cotton, pressing in all sides and making her feel fuzzy. The other part feels like fire ants are crawling through her nerves, biting up into her shoulder, but despite all of this, she makes herself point at the items set beside her bed.]
That medicine there... When I wake up, mix it well in one of those bottles, and make sure I drink it.
[She screws her eyes shut as something inside her stings sharper than before, making her dizzy.] N-Normally I'd take it every day, so if I can't it's best if I have it right away.
...Water would be good too. It's important for humans to stay hydrated...
Busy. S'imporant part of the process, so come back later... Wrote it down in the book...
[By which she means she wrote out a list for him, of people who know she's here and examples of things to say to each one of them if they ask. Rin's nothing if not thorough.]
Sans knows. S'okay if you tell him what's really goin' on...
[Well not the whole story. She left out a lot, mainly the bits she thought Zaveid might have only explained to her in confidence. What she means by that is he got a little more detail than the others, which is also written in the notebook.]
Aha, I've some homework then. [ He wasn't sure what that was for so he just put it aside, but, well, he's a reason to read it now, huh.
... Sans?- ]
If he wants to know, he's definitely got my number. [ Depending on how bored he gets, he might send a 'any questions' and maybe some food off to the skeleton.
... But he reaches over to pat her on the head. ]
It's not the first time I've looked after a sick kid. Just the first time they've been a fledgling shepherd.
[She can't remember the last time she was patted on the head, and it surprises her. Through fogging senses she tries to get a better look at him.
When she met the weird, hippie exotic dancer back in May, he was probably one of the last people she would have expected to be comforting her in a time like this. But while he can be a jerk, the hand on her head doesn't feel out of place at all.]
Heh. [Eyes sliding shut again, her laugh comes out more in a breath.] You really are... Softie...
Yeah, that's me. [ Of the Wind, staying put because he can't bear to abandon kids again.
Ah, but he as a book to read, doesn't he? Zaveid sets a breeze to keep an eye on her - she's asleep, it's not likely to tell him anything useful - and plops on the floor by the bed to read. ]

You might as well make yourself comfortable. Pretty sure you'd rather take care of that.

Zaveid watches her go, then sets to neatening out her pile of stuff on the far side of the bed.
It would be too much to toss back the covers for her, wouldn't it?
Either way, her medicine, water bottles and note book are neatly to the side of the bed and he picked up their plates too. ]
