Not controlling it is exactly how you're activating it, though. That's not a GOOD thing, mind, so yes. It's going to take a LOT of practice.

What you want is to harness that feeling without letting it show on the outside.

That WAS my suggestion. Even when you're burning up with anger, keep a cool head. Luckily, that can be practiced even without the spear in hand.
